Opis

Take in „Whose voices are being heard?" exhibition through an hour-long guided tour with our knowledgeable guide and project coordinator - Paulina Maloy. ✹ when: December 2 at 5 p.m. ✹ where: BWA Wrocław Główny Gallery ✹ (the mezzanine of Wrocław Główny Railway Station, 105 Piłsudskiego Street, Wrocław) admission: FREE The power of words in different contexts, languages, images and sounds - BWA Wrocław Główny Gallery is hosting post-residence exhibition that is the creative voice of minority women artists living in Norway and Poland. The presentation is the voices of female artists with unique experiences and skills. Starting from a meeting in the circumstances of an artistic residency, it emphasises understanding how others think, process information, perceive the world and make decisions - on cognitive diversity. The works are united by sharpness and freshness of outlook, some are even a kind of manifesto in response to church or state interference in private life or the energy crisis. The artists, speaking from their positions as representatives of a minority group, call for inquisitiveness, the courage to, as Donna Harway wants, destabilize worlds of thought with other worlds of thought. Hear the voices of female artists with unique experiences and skills. Between Lill's sculptural realizations, Aliona's multi-element installation, Yachi's respond to recognition of Taiwanese identity by the Norwegian authorities, the themes of queer-feminist activism pursued by Kine, Viktoria's discovery about the identity of the Norwegian town of Hvitsten, you will also experience a soundscape work composed by Ingrid. It's the only guided tour in English - not to be missed! ✹ To read more about artists and exhibition: → https://instytutkultury.pl/en/whose-voices-are-being-heard-summary-exhibition/ Artists: Kine Michelle Bruniera, Lill Yildiz Yalcin, Aliona Pazdniakova, Yachi Shian-Yuan Yang, Ingrid Frivold, Viktoriia Tofan Curator: Agata Ciastoń Organizer: Wrocław Institute of Culture Co-organizer: BWA Wrocław Galleries of Contemporary Art Partners: Hvitsten Salong, Safemuse Exhibition architecture: Hubert Kielan „Whose voices are being heard?" 10.11-31.12.2023 BWA Wrocław Główny Gallery (The mezzanine of Wrocław Main Railway Station) IMPORTANT: the escalators next to ticket offices of the Main Railway Station are not working → you can reach the gallery by elevator (2nd floor) or by using side staircases.
