Laura Adel: workshops and street art interventions

Together with participants we will focus the theme of the text written on the streets of Wroclaw. The meetings in the field will be accompanied by street art interventions in the city done by us, participants. The artist wants to consider both the aesthetic, meaningful and emotional layers of words seen in the city, written, printed, recorded or spoken. The art partnership will involve a new look at urban space and become a safe space for creative conversation with the group. ~ SCENARIO ~ → 14.06, 5:00 - 8 pm - Introduction meeting Meeting place: Recepcja Together we will talk about a context, experimental caligraphy and streetart which is created with the help of words/letters. We will look for situations in which words were said that resonate strongly on us. → 15.06 - 5:00 - 8 pm - Photo walk Meeting place: Recepcja We will take a walk together and analyze places and put some small letter and words interventions in the city space.It will be very important to focus on meanings and associations connected with the spaces we visit. During the Meeting we plan to go outside Recepcja so as to have a walk together. → 21.06, 5:00 - 8 pm - Work in pairs Meeting place: Recepcja We will work in groups. Each group will think about common word, slogan or sentence strongly resonating with you, We will also test technologies such as: LCD display, telephone screen, cameras. → 22.06.2023 5:00 - 8 pm Meeting place: Recepcja All together we will think about artwork we can create together and how we can shape it. PARTICIPANTS Workshops are open for everyone. We invite people interested in the topics of words and typography. Being a professional art. creator is not a requirement. She based her creation on abstraction, experimental films and interaction. Laura's works were awarded both nationally and internationally. Among other galleries, her abstract movies were exhibited in the Centre of Contemporary Art Laznia in Gdansk or in the National Museum - Four Domes Pavilion in Wroclaw. As part of Urban Screen Production collection her films are being shown across Canada, New Zealand and Australia. She works at the New Media Department at Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw where pursuing a doctorate degree. She managed video production department in London. In Berlin she worked as art director assistant for companies like BBC. She also worked as editor of "Them" -mix-media animation which among other awards was granted the Best Animation 2020 award at the GIFF Festival. Laura Adel also worked in post-production of award-winning stop-motion animation Trefliki where she also creates special effects. *** Wroclaw Institute of Culture is a partner of the international platform Magic Carpets, which brings together more than a dozen cultural organisations. Arnis's residency is taking place thanks to the Magic Carpets network and the collaboration with Kauno biennale.
